TEHRAN – The new Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani should make real changes in the judicial system, deputy chief of National Confidence Party (NCP) Rasool Montajabnia told Mehr News Agency on Tuesday.

Montajabnia said the new Judiciary chief’s plans are “promising” but it would be a “challenge to deliver.”
The senior member of the NCP voiced concern over false interpretation of the law by the Judiciary and other law enforcing agencies. He urged the new chief to supervise the process of law enforcement, eliminating variations in the interpretation of the same law.
“Failure of law enforcement authorities to respect the law themselves would only encourage some officials to continue their illegal and ugly practices,” he underlined.
Elsewhere, Montajabnia referred to actions by plain clothes, attacking demonstrators who protested the results of the June 12 election including a night attack on Tehran University dormitory, urging the Judiciary chief to bring to justice the perpetrators of such acts.
Recalling the unfortunate death of detainees in the notorious Kahrizak prison and the conditions of detention centers, Montajabnia said, “All detention centers should come under the close supervision of the Judiciary to prevent repeat of such ugly incidents in the future.
